You will experience a very active class with an emphasis on hands on learning with hammer, heat and iron. This 12 hour workshop will introduce beginning and intermediate participants to basic techniques of bladesmithing. This course is a great introduction to knife making.īladesmithing 101: 3-piece knife with wooden handle (12-Hour): Dates, Times, and Registration Participants will isolate material, bevel and profile blades, and form creative integral handles. Learn to forge a railroad spike knife that's good for camping, all-around utility, and ornamental purposes. No prerequisites or experience necessary.īladesmithing 101: Rail Road Spike Knife (6-Hour): Dates, Times, and Registration Participants will forge, heat treat, grind and finish custom pieces. These courses will introduce beginning and intermediate participants to basic techniques of bladesmithing with forge and anvil. Safe work habits and protective gear will be emphasized while making basic projects out of forged steel. Introduction to the art and science of blacksmithing. Open Anvil: Blacksmithing and Blades: Dates, Times, and Registration Participants should bring their own metal and project materials. These open anvil times are a great way to finish what you worked on in class or start a brand new project. The shop will be supervised to ensure everyone's safety and to help with tools, but there will be limited instruction. This 5-hour session is an affordable way to gain access to the forge as well as blacksmithing tools and equipment.
